Our Lakota Nation is comprised of over three million acres of beautiful nature with three major waterways including the Missouri River, The Cheyenne River and The Moreau River located in central South Dakota.
The Cheyenne River Reservation is home to the four bands (Tiospaye) of the “Titunwan” People of the Plains: The “Mnicoujou” Planters By The Water, “Oohenumpa” Two Kettle, “Itazipco” Without Bows, and “Siha Sapa” Black Foot.
2021 Cheyenne River Sioux Tribal Census Project
The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe will be conducting its own Tribal Census for the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation. The 2021 Cheyenne River Sioux Tribal Census project will be starting June 7, 2021, and will continue through to the middle of July 2021. The project goal is to count every resident on the reservation through door-to-door and telephone surveys. The Tribe encourages all Reservation residents to participate in the 2021 Tribal Census.
